A microfarm in the suburbs

The flower farm you’d never know was there.

Look for the pink house on SW Murdock. There is a bench out front with that morning's flowers on it, cut from the rows behind the house.

Cutting dahlias in the rows at golden hour, with the worktable set for the workshop behind

Small on purpose, so everyone gets a hand at the table.

A note on the event: This is a working flower farm, so we cut what the garden is giving us that week. The garden sets the menu, and the weather sets the tone. The terrain is uneven, so please wear long sleeves, pants and closed-toe shoes, and dress for the weather. If it rains, we have a covered work space, and the experience will be all the more memorable. All guests must complete a short liability waiver before the event. We will send the link with your confirmation.

Our story

This ground has grown flowers longer than we have

Michael's grandparents have grown flowers on this property since before he was born. Daffodils, roses, tulips. In 2023 Brenda had the idea to turn it into a flower farm, and we started adding peonies, dahlias and zinnias to what was already here.

Drive past and you would never suspect there is a flower farm behind the house. That is the secret in Secret Garden Society.

The Flower Bench

Where the whole thing started

Before there were workshops or memberships, there was a bench on the side of the road in front of the house, with buckets on it and whatever had been cut that morning.

The bench is still out there, and it is still the easiest way to take something home. Look for the pink house on SW Murdock.

Why local matters

Where a supermarket bouquet actually comes from

Most cut flowers sold in the United States have been on a plane. Ours have been on a wheelbarrow.

80%of cut flowers sold in the US are imported
60%+of those imports come from Colombia alone
9 in 10arrive through a single airport in Miami

Sources: USDA Economic Research Service, US Customs and Border Protection.

Ours are grown in the ground out back and cut the evening before you get them.

That is the whole difference, and you can smell it.
